Compound Fitness Works. Here’s How (Video.)

Coach E here:

Compound fitness works. Often it’s about consistently hitting singles versus swinging for the fence.

Make moves and make magic. Post how you are getting your move on below.

Return of the Roar

courage

Coach E here:

I offer our most primal fear is we will not be enough and ultimately won’t be loved. We create moats around our vulnerability and true selves so we can stay “safe.”

The irony is we achieve great things in our quest to “measure up” and be loved, yet often fail to get what we all crave the most, deep relationships and soulful connection.

Today I offer you the roar: A return to the intimacy and quality of relationship that comes when we share who we really are without social masks or fear. Our art, vulnerability, shame, messiness, as well as our triumphs.

This is not easy. It requires radical bravery, inspired action and a willingness to be vulnerable.

I invite you to return to your roar and give it away today; your love, art and true self. The upside is unlimited and there is no downside because, as Dr. Seuss once said, “Be who you are. Because those who matter don’t mind, and those that mind don’t matter.”

 ROAR!

Why We Fail

I can

We fail when we say no to a challenge that scares us. We fail when we play small or wait to be picked. We fail when we let fear hold our life hostage. We fail when we hesitate to speak our truth, act in alignment with our core values or say I love you. We fail when we use our old outdated stories as an excuse for why we can’t have what we want in the present. We fail when we don’t get up when life knocks us down. You see the only failure there is failure to act. Failure to lean in, step up and make things happen. Setbacks are opportunities to learn and grow.

Take away: You were born with wings. Sometimes you have to jump off the cliff and know your wings will appear. They will.

Keep it lit!

Just Show Up

regret-that-workout

The secret to success in fitness and in life is consistently showing up. Often we blame out lack of resources for to taking action (the greatest of which is time.) Remember it’s not your resources, but your resourcefulness that determines your destiny.

Today I invite you to meet yourself where you are and with what you have. Keep in mind it’s progress and not perfection that lights you up and makes you feel the most alive.

Take away: Show up. Get resourceful. Take action. Notice how good this feels.

The Power of Rituals

power of rituals

When it comes to transforming your body and your life, I offer your rituals become your destiny.

This week I invite you to take a closer look at the fitness/wellness ritual that has best served you (such as starting your day with healthy breakfast routine) and one ritual that has historically stolen from you (such as mindless late night snacking/binging.)

Your assignment: Take a few minutes and write about how you have integrated your empowering ritual into your life. Success leaves clues. How did you move this ritual from a “should” to a must? What was the driving force? How good does it feel to engage in this ritual? Why?

Next write about your limiting ritual. How is this ritual stealing from you? Your health? Relationships? Self-esteem? How would your boy/health/life transform if you replaced this ritual with something that empowers you?

*Key question: What small step can you take today to replace this ritual with a routine that both feels good and keep you aligned with your health/wellness goals /values?

Keep it fun and keep it simple. Notice how good this feels!
