Your Most Valuable Currency

The effect you have on other people is the most valuable currency there is. At the very end, all that you’ve accomplished and accumulated will fade away. What will remain are the moments of honest, brave and intimate connection that will live in the hearts of others forever.

Take away: Be somebody that makes other people around you feel like somebody. Shine your light freely on as many people as you can today.

Anger Can be Healing. Here’s How.

Courage lion-771482

Coach Erik here:

Belying most anger is hurt, vulnerability and sadness. The challenge is most of us suppress or displace our anger, which can lead to either external rage or prolonged internal suffering, disease and pain.

I offer the “courageous Lion’s roar” is the decision to understand the wisdom of your anger and express it in a powerful and healing way.

I invite you to do this by getting in touch with the feelings behind the anger. For example, recognizing that what you are really feeling hurt, lonely or disconnected etc. and expressing that to yourself and/or others. I offer there is great power profound healing in vulnerability and expressing your truth.

Notice how good it feels to own the feelings behind the anger and how freeing it feels to express your truth in a direct and constructive way. Once you do, you are free to nourish and resolve your feelings as opposed to succumbing to the immediate (and often) destructive needs of your anger.

Hope is Not a Strategy – This is.

hope-is-not-a-strategy

Coach Erik here:

I offer your life expands or shrinks in direct proportion to your courage. When you step up to the demand of a new challenge your whole life positively expands. Possibilities, resources, relationships open to you and you begin to realize the person you thought your once were is no match for the person you really are.

Keep in mind when it comes to stepping up, hope is important, but it’s not a strategy. Hope is passive. Instead I invite you to unleash faith and action. Hope walks through the fire, faith leaps over it!

Take away: Expand by demand. Challenges sculpt your character, energize your life and awaken vast resources in and around you.

Step up, have faith and then go make things happen!

Power Up!

keep-calm-and-release-your-power

Coach Erik here:

When it comes to transforming your fitness or another area of your wellness the power  does not lie somewhere “out there” but within you. My offering today is an invitation to reconnect with your power by remembering times you:

– Met adversity and you prevailed.

– Thought you couldn’t do it but you found out you could.

– Were terrified but you took action anyway.

– Thought you couldn’t take another step but you did.

– Thought the bottom would fall out but it didn’t.

– Got knocked down but you got back up.

– Discovered that you were stronger then you thought you were.

Take away: Success leaves clues. When it comes to transforming an area of your wellness remember everything you need is already within you.

Power Up!

Erik

Serious or Curious?

Coach Erik here:

In life we get what we must and not what we “should.”

I invite you to think about all the times you’ve taken inspired action when you were absolutely committed to making something happen. Chances are you found a way no matter what obstacle stood in your way. Your mission was a must. You were focused. You were determined. You got knocked down yet you kept getting back up. You were petrified of failing, but you took determined action anyway.

Take away: Success leaves clues. When it comes to transforming it’s not a matter of can you, it’s will you. Will you?

Focus, Attraction & Destiny

keep-calm-make-your-destiny

Coach Erik here:

I offer the first pillar of success in any area of your life is focus. What you focus on you feel. What you feel you attract. And what you attract (and act on) becomes your destiny. Where focus goes, energy and action flows.

Think about an area of your life that is thriving? I hypothesize it’s because it’s and area you focus on consistently. It’s not a should it’s a must. It’s a clear decision to make it happen, not to be perfect, but to make consistent progress. Remember progress (not perfection) equals happiness!

If you’re having a rough go of it I invite you to change your focus. Instead of focusing on what you don’t want for example, “I don’t want to be overweight” focus on what you do want, “I want to feel energized, vital and passionate!” Notice how good this shift in energy feels and then take determined action.

Take away: What you focus on you feel. What you feel you attract. And what you attract (and act on) becomes your destiny!

5 Tips For Getting Through an Exercise Injury

C

If you train long enough it’s not a matter of if you will get injured it’s when. Repetitive overuse injuries are common and so is the frustration that often accompanies it. My invitation today is five tips for mentally getting through the initial frustration of an exercise injury and coming back stronger then ever.

1) Accept that you have an injury and adapt and adjust your plan of action. Pretending you don’t have an issue and training through it does not serve you mentally and will prolong the injury. I invite you to accept where you are and adapt and adjust your exercise plan accordingly.

2) Focus on what you CAN do. When a door closes a window of opportunity is often left open. Focusing on what you can do puts you in a position of strength and ignites your creativity and resourcefulness.

3) Stay positive. Where focus goes energy flows. Staying positive supports healing and your mental frame of mind.

4) Understand the root of your injury. Many overuse injuries have to do with muscle imbalances. Seek out experts who can help you heal your current symptoms, and also put together a plan for strengthening weak areas of your body.

5) Have faith. Your body is hardwired to heal. Have faith that this too shall pass and the courage to give your body the time it needs. You will be back out there soon enough, stronger and more fired up then ever!
